Dashboard Guide
Your Once Analytics dashboard gives you a clear picture of your website traffic without the complexity of traditional analytics tools.
Overview
The dashboard shows your key metrics at a glance:
- Visitors — Unique visitors (based on your privacy mode)
- Pageviews — Total page loads
- Bounce Rate — Percentage of single-page sessions
- Avg. Session Duration — How long visitors stay
- Pages per Session — Average pages viewed per visit
Key metrics
Visitors vs Pageviews
- Visitors counts unique people (or unique sessions, depending on privacy mode)
- Pageviews counts every page load, including repeat views
A visitor viewing 5 pages = 1 visitor, 5 pageviews.
Bounce Rate
The percentage of visitors who leave after viewing only one page. Lower is generally better, but some pages (like blog posts) naturally have higher bounce rates.
Session Duration
Time from first to last pageview in a session. Sessions timeout after 30 minutes of inactivity.
Time periods
Use the period selector to view different time ranges:
| Period | Description |
|---|---|
| Today | Current day (UTC) |
| 7 days | Last 7 days including today |
| 30 days | Last 30 days including today |
| 90 days | Last 90 days including today |
Filtering data
Click any metric in the dashboard to filter by that dimension:
- Click a country to see only traffic from that country
- Click a page to see only traffic to that page
- Click a referrer to see only traffic from that source
- Click a browser to see only that browser's traffic
Multiple filters can be combined. Click "Clear filters" to reset.
Available filters
- Country
- Page path
- Referrer
- Browser
- Operating system
- Device type (Desktop/Mobile/Tablet)
- UTM parameters (source, medium, campaign)
- Bot vs human traffic
Traffic sources
The Referrers section shows where your traffic comes from:
- Direct — No referrer (typed URL, bookmarks, some apps)
- Search engines — Google, Bing, DuckDuckGo, etc.
- Social — Twitter, Facebook, LinkedIn, etc.
- Other sites — Any website linking to you
Note: Referrer information is only captured on the first page of a session. Internal navigation doesn't overwrite the original referrer.
Geographic data
The Countries section shows visitor locations based on Cloudflare's geo-IP detection. This is derived from the visitor's IP address and is generally accurate to the country level.
Technology breakdown
See what browsers, operating systems, and devices your visitors use:
- Browsers — Chrome, Firefox, Safari, Edge, etc.
- OS — Windows, macOS, iOS, Android, Linux
- Devices — Desktop, Mobile, Tablet
Bot detection
Once Analytics automatically detects and flags bot traffic from:
- Search engine crawlers (Googlebot, Bingbot)
- Social media crawlers (Facebook, Twitter)
- AI crawlers (GPTBot, ClaudeBot)
- Monitoring tools (UptimeRobot, Pingdom)
Bot traffic is tracked separately and shown with a "Bot" indicator.
Landing pages report
Access via Dashboard → Landing Pages to see:
- Which pages visitors enter your site on
- Bounce rate per landing page
- Average session duration per entry point
- Pages per session by landing page
- Conversion correlation (if goals are set up)
This helps identify your best-performing content and pages that need improvement.
